Dear Colleagues – Given that the WFNS Presidency has transitioned from Franco Servadei to Nelson Oyesiku, it is appropriate that the first item in this issue of the Newsletter is President Oyesiku’s Inaugural Presidential Address from September 16, 2021. Next is an update on the Global Neurosurgery Outcome Study (GNOS), including an invitation to participate in the GNOS: Spine. This is followed by announcement of another book published by the WFNS Peripheral Nerve Surgery Committee: Diagnostic Assessment and Treatment of Peripheral Nerve Tumors A brief summary of the EANS2021 Virtual Congress (October 3 – 7) is presented. Three upcoming WFNS-sponsored or continental society meetings are noted: 1. The Rutgers University Global Neurosurgery Update and Educational Summit, November 3 & 4, 2021. A virtual meeting. 2. The FLANC 39th Congress, Guayaquil, November 21 – 24, 2021. An in-person meeting. 3. The AASNS 16th Congress, Jerusalem, September 6 – 8, 2022. An in-person meeting.
